Smoky Tahini Dressing (V + GF)

This is one feisty dressing!

I love drizzling it over hot oven-roasted potatoes and spinach salad with dried cranberries, nuts and seeds (full smoky tahini salad recipe coming soon!).

I think it would also be wonderful over crispy sweet potato fries or as a sauce to pair with a bean burrito. Use it as a dip, too!



I have been experimenting a lot with tahini lately. It’s one of those ingredients that you can work into savory or sweet recipes.

Tahini is basically just ground up sesame seeds. The texture is similar to many other seed and nut butters.

It is also one of the main ingredients in your beloved hummus.

I like tahini because it is one of the best plant-food sources for calcium and the fats in it are heart-healthy. Groovy!

This recipe is:

Smoky Tahini Dressing (V + GF)


Yield: 1 ½ cups dressing

Time: 10 minutes


Ingredients:


½ cup tahini

½ cup water

1 T capers

1 T caper brine

2 T lemon juice

1 tsp liquid smoke

2 T nutritional yeast

2 T Dijon mustard

1 tsp. smoked paprika

½ tsp. sea salt


Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a fork until smooth.

Keeps for about a week in the refrigerator.

Note:

Sometimes tahini can be weird. If you find that your dressing is too thick – add a little more water!
